Subject: Seeking Recommendations for a Terminal Block Label Maker Hello everyone, I’m new to this forum, so please excuse me if I've posted in the wrong section. I’m in search of a reliable label maker suitable for creating labels for 3.5mm terminal blocks, specifically the phoenixPT 1.5/S series. Recently, I purchased the Zack marker strips provided by Phoenix with the intention of attaching labels to them. My plan is to label each terminal block with identifiers like "TB1-1," "TB1-2," and so on, to clearly denote both the terminal block and individual terminal numbers. I recently acquired a Brady BMP21 Plus label maker, assuming it would meet my labeling needs. However, I discovered that its "terminal block" mode has significant limitations, particularly regarding label spacing options—only allowing whole millimeter increments, with a minimum of 6mm, despite the device being capable of printing smaller labels. This is my first experience with an electrical panel (my expertise lies in PCB design), and I've been navigating various catalogs to figure everything out. I would appreciate your feedback on whether I’m approaching this labeling process correctly. Since this is a relatively small project and not a frequent task for me, investing in specialized terminal block labeling solutions, like a plotter, isn’t feasible for my situation. I’m eager to learn how fellow members in this community handle terminal block labeling. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Welcome to our community forum! I am also a user of Phoenix Contact products. My preference is to display only the numbers on the zack strip, with the block identification placed in aKLM-A format. You can refer to the attached image for a visual example.
Thank you for clarifying; that really helps me understand better.
Additionally, our representative in Phoenix has a printer available. I simply provide the required numbering, and they deliver the printed materials, fully prepared and ready for use.
Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you’re on the right track with wanting to label your terminal blocks clearly. If you’re looking for an alternative to the BMP21 Plus, you might want to check out the DYMO LabelWriter series, which offers more flexibility with label sizes and is user-friendly for smaller projects like yours. Another option could be the Brother P-touch label makers; some models have templates specifically for terminal block labeling, which might give you the precision you're seeking. Also, consider using a custom template if your software allows it; that might help with the spacing issues you're encountering. Good luck with your project, and feel free to share updates!
Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you’re off to a good start with your labeling project. For your needs, you might want to consider a label maker like the DYMO LabelWriter 450; it has customizable options that can work well for smaller labels and offers precise spacing. Many others have found success with it for similar tasks. Also, if you haven't already, check if there are any specific templates or label formats available for your Zack marker strips online, as they can provide additional guidance. Don’t hesitate to ask more questions as you go along—this community is really helpful!
