Hello everyone! I am looking for a solution to upload alarm tags at the bit level to my FTView Studio. I currently export the tags from my PLC in .csv format, but FTView tags are in xml format. Converting between the two formats seems like a tedious process. Is there a more efficient way to handle this task?
I asked the question hastily, but quickly found the answer on YouTube University.
Hi there! Have you tried using a third-party tool to automate your conversion process? There are numerous online resources and software available which can automate the process of converting .csv files to .xml files. I've personally used a tool called "Advanced CSV Converter" in the past which worked well for me. Make sure to also check that variables in your PLC match with the FTview, mismatches could cause more headaches down the line.
Hi there! You're right, converting between .csv and .xml can be somewhat tedious. Have you considered using a script or third-party software tool for the conversion? There are several utility tools available that can automate the process, making it much more efficient. Another option could be to write a script using a language like Python that handles the conversion automatically. Of course, the best solution depends on your level of comfort with these tools. Good luck!
