Hello everyone! Currently, we are utilizing the MP2 Access 2000 version for our maintenance tasks. We have recently onboarded a new employee to handle our maintenance PM's. However, the tasks in our system are still assigned to a previous employee who is no longer with us. Is there a method to efficiently transfer all these tasks from the old employee to the new one in a batch, rather than having to manually reassign them one by one? Any advice or guidance on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Kim.
There is currently no automated feature in MP2 for transferring tasks from one employee to another. However, a workaround could involve utilizing Microsoft Access to directly access the database and make the necessary changes. This method is more efficient for managing a high volume of tasks.
In List view, changing the "Assigned to" entry can be quickly accomplished with a few simple steps. First, navigate to the Tasks module and select the list view Tab. Then, position your Cursor in the "Assigned to" field and sort alphabetically. To change the Assignee, use the Lookup feature to select the new one and copy it to the clipboard by pressing Ctrl + C. Move to the next record using the Down arrow key and paste the new Assignee by pressing Ctrl + V. Repeat this process for multiple records to efficiently update them. This method allows you to update numerous entries within a short span of 10 to 15 minutes. For any inquiries, feel free to reach out to me at df@flemingtechnical.com or 678-777-9015. Hey Kim, I had a similar issue not too long ago. Yes, there's a workaround for that. When you're in the task section of MP2 Access 2000, look for a function that says 'Bulk Reassign.' Once you find it, select all the tasks that need reassigning, choose the new person's ID, and execute a reassign. It requires administrator-level access, so double-check whether you've got that first. Let me know if this helps!
Hey Kim! It's great to see you're streamlining your process. I experienced a similar situation recently, and while it might seem daunting at first, MP2 does allow for batch updating to reassign work orders. Under the work order history in the control panel, you should have an option to "Change Assigned To" for multiple tasks. You can use this option to reassign all tasks belonging to your former employee to your new one. If the option isn't present, you may need to consult your system administrator to give the necessary permissions. Don't be discouraged if it takes a few steps - once you get it set up, it'll save you a lot of time in the long run. Best of luck!
Hi Kim, the MP2 Access 2000 version doesn't have an in-built feature to allow batch transfers from one employee to another. However, you could potentially export the tasks assigned to the outgoing employee, change the employee ID/name to the new assignee in the exported file, and then import it back into the system. Please make sure to backup your current system before doing this to prevent any data loss. Alternatively, you could try contacting your system administrator or Infor Support for more professional assistance. Always remember, manual reassignment is the last option!
Hey Kim, interesting question. In MP2, the ability to perform a batch reassignment is typically dependent on the specific version you're using and how your system is set up. However, you might be able to use an administrative function to perform a mass update. You'd likely need to filter for tasks assigned to the old user and then switch user assignments. But be careful, any changes should be thoroughly tested in a non-production environment first to make sure it doesn't unknowingly affect other areas in the system. The safest way might be to contact your vendor or a consultant familiar with your specific version and setup to provide guidance.
Hi Kim! You might want to check if your MP2 Access 2000 version has a bulk transfer option for task assignments, as some older systems do offer that capability. If not, a workaround could be to export the current assignments to a spreadsheet, make the changes there, and then re-import them back into the system. Just be cautious with data integrity during the process! It might also be worth reaching out to your IT support or the software provider for any scripts or tools that could help streamline this transition. Good luck!
Hey Kim! You might want to check if MP2 has a bulk reassignment feature in its task management settings. Sometimes, systems like this allow you to select multiple tasks at once and assign them to a new user, which can save you a ton of time. If that’s not available, consider reaching out to your IT support or the MP2 help desk; they can provide specific guidance or even assist with running a script to help with the transfer. Good luck with the transition!
Hey Kim! You might want to check if your MP2 Access 2000 has a bulk reassignment feature—some versions do allow you to update multiple records at once. If that's not available, another option could be to export the tasks to a spreadsheet, update the assigned employee column, and then re-import them back into the system. Just make sure to back everything up first! Hope this helps!
Hi Kim! You might want to check if your version of MP2 has a bulk update feature or a way to run a script for task reassignment—sometimes these older programs include options you wouldn't find at first glance. If not, you could export the tasks to Excel, make your changes there, and then reimport them, which might save a lot of time. It could also be worth reaching out to your software provider's support for specific instructions tailored to your version. Good luck and hope it goes smoothly!
