Hello everyone, I am currently using Sysmac Studio version 1.23 in conjunction with CX One version 4.25 (including CX Programmer 9.66 and its suite), all of which are up to date as of today. My operating system is Windows 7, 64-bit. I am encountering a persistent application error within Sysmac Studio that causes the software to crash whenever I attempt to access the Tools > Options menu. The error message reads as follows: “Application Error: An unexpected error occurred. Sysmac Studio will now shut down. Unsaved data will be lost. Would you like to save the project you are currently editing?” This issue also arises when I try to access the properties of a lamp object in the HMI programming section of Sysmac Studio. I have completely uninstalled both CX One and Sysmac Studio using the provided Remover tool, followed by a fresh installation with all updates, yet the problem persists. I am working offline when these errors occur and have even initiated new projects, suspecting that my previous projects might be corrupted. Initially, I reached out to Omron Tech Support for assistance, and they recommended performing a full uninstall and reinstall, which I have completed. If anyone has any insights or suggestions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you, Axledeep
Could you test this on a different computer? Additionally, consider temporarily disabling any antivirus software to check if the application functions properly. Just a couple of suggestions for you. Best regards, Garry
I've encountered some truly disturbing content like that before.
I have successfully installed CX-One on my Windows 10 64-bit system without encountering any issues. Since the launch of Windows 10, I have consistently run CX-One without any problems. I no longer use Windows 7 for this software, including any virtual machines.
Garry from gclshortt suggests: "Could you test this application on a different computer? Consider temporarily disabling any antivirus software to check if that resolves the issue." Just sharing a couple of ideas. Best regards, Garry. In response, we have two additional laptops equipped with Sysmac Studio. One is identical to mine and operates without any issues, while the other is different yet functions perfectly as well. We are currently waiting for our IT department to disable McAfee antivirus. It's been three hours, and we're still waiting... what a hassle! Thank you, Garry. Best, Axle.
Daba expressed, "I've encountered some negative experiences like that." Click to expand... Quite the humorous individual!
Hi Axledeep, I totally sympathize with your frustration—software crashes can be really annoying! Since you've already tried the uninstall/reinstall route and are working with the latest updates, you might want to check for any compatibility issues with Windows 7 since some versions of software can behave unpredictably on older operating systems. It could also help to run Sysmac Studio in compatibility mode or as an administrator to see if that resolves the crashes. Additionally, if you have access to a different machine or a virtual environment, testing it there might provide some insights into whether it's a system-specific issue. Hope this helps!
Hi Axledeep, that sounds really frustrating! Since you've already tried a full reinstall and reached out to tech support, it might be worth checking if there are any compatibility issues with Windows 7 or maybe even looking into whether your graphics driver is up to date—it can sometimes cause glitches in software. Another thing to consider is running Sysmac Studio in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or even updating to a newer OS if possible, since Windows 7 is becoming less supported. Hopefully, one of these options helps you get back on track!
