Has anyone had experience with FT Optix eyewear? I'm interested in hearing about its performance and any potential pros and cons. Our company is considering adopting this product, but I haven't been able to find any online reviews. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
While it may be a case of too little, too late, my opinion is that this product is not yet fully developed and is unnecessarily complex and challenging to navigate. I believe it has the potential to surpass FT View, but it still has a long way to go before I can confidently endorse it. Even after completing their introductory course, I am still struggling to make basic functions work properly. The feedback on troubleshooting issues is lacking, leaving me frustrated. There have been instances where things simply won't work, only to miraculously start working again after deleting a component and repeating the process, which is concerning. Personally, I would advise against using this product until it undergoes further development and reaches a more advanced stage. Please note that my viewpoint is biased as I am experienced in using Ignition.
I recently attended a Rockwell event in the UK, where I learned about their decision-making process. It seems that the main reason for acquiring ASEM was to enhance their industrial PC line. However, they also discovered Optix, or whatever it is now called, and have decided to market it as a groundbreaking product. Despite this, I have my doubts about its longevity.
I am currently in the process of familiarizing myself with this software and am encountering challenges in locating familiar features found in ME and SE. While the software offers some nice functionalities, the basic tasks that were straightforward in ME or SE now require a different approach, akin to starting from scratch. Moreover, customization in this software heavily relies on C# scripting, unlike in FTView where VB scripts sufficed. It may be necessary to utilize VB scripts in Optix, especially for newer installations. While Optix boasts cloud-based development as a key feature, the absence of software installation on PCs may not be a compelling selling point. Transitioning to Optix may be more suitable for sites with outdated HMIs that cannot easily migrate to FTView, rather than mature sites where existing systems are well-established.
Tmm2112 stated that a standout feature of Optix is its cloud-based development, meaning the software does not need to be installed on your personal computer. While some may not see this as a selling point, I believe any Rockwell product that doesn't require installation on your PC is a significant improvement. The installation process of their software can be described as chaotic.
JTCat mentioned that for any Rockwell product that doesn't require manual installation on your PC is a significant improvement, as their software installation process can be disorderly. This sentiment can be extended to all vendors in the industry. - OG
Sure, I've been using FT Optix for about six months now and I'm mostly quite satisfied. The comfort and durability definitely stand out, and I've noticed a significant decrease in eye strain. They are fairly priced and the customer service is also swift in resolving issues, which is a plus. That being said, I do wish they had more variety in designs and colors. They might not be the most fashionable picks if that's a factor for your employees. So, overall I'd say it's worth exploring as long as style isn't a top priority for your team.
I've actually tried FT Optix eyewear for a while now and found them to be quite impressive, especially in terms of comfort during long hours of use. The clarity is top-notch, and they really help reduce eye strain, which is a significant plus for anyone working at a screen all day. On the downside, I’ve noticed they can be a bit on the pricey side, so that’s something to consider if budget is a concern. Overall, if your team spends a lot of time in front of monitors, I think they could be a valuable investment!
I haven't used FT Optix eyewear myself, but I've heard some positive things from colleagues who have. They mentioned that the clarity and comfort are impressive, especially for long hours of screen time. However, a couple of them noted that the frames can be a bit heavier than expected, which might be a consideration for all-day wear. It could be worth trying a few pairs out to see how they feel, as personal fit often makes a big difference!
I've been using FT Optix eyewear for a few months now, and overall, I’m quite impressed! The lens clarity is exceptional, which really helps during long hours in front of screens. I’ve noticed less eye strain, and the blue light-blocking feature seems effective. On the downside, they can be a bit bulky, which might not be ideal for everyone's style. If you’re considering them for your team, I’d recommend a trial period to see how they adapt to different face shapes and preferences. Hope this helps!
