Getting Started with Beckhoff CP6606: Datalogging Tips and Troubleshooting in TwinCAT 3

Question:

Hello everyone! I'm just starting my journey into the world of Beckhoff's Codesys, specifically using the Beckhoff CP6606 with TwinCAT 3 (TC3). Transitioning from a Rockwell background, I’ve encountered quite a learning curve. One feature I initially thought would be non-existent is data logging; however, Beckhoff provided a sample routine that enables the creation of a CSV file, making this functionality surprisingly straightforward. I successfully implemented it as a function block, but I've encountered some issues—random occurrences such as altering the program or accessing the resulting CSV file via FTP seem to corrupt the file, halting the data logging process. Has anyone else experienced this issue and found a viable solution? Thanks in advance for your help! Cheers, Chris.

I recommend utilizing AdvancedHMI for your data logging needs. You can find the software available for download here: [AdvancedHMI on SourceForge](https://sourceforge.net/projects/advancedhmi/).
