Hello everyone, I am using the 1794-ADN IOFlex DeviceNet Rack with the 1793-IE4 analog inputs modules. I am trying to determine if I can access the individual channel statuses for the 4-20mA signals. Does anyone have any insight on how to access the underrange bit for these modules?
The inputs are currently only displaying the 4 words for the 4 channels, with another module connected beside it. To read the input statuses starting from [0], one should also check at [8].00 through 3. Although the gear is all existing, I am preparing in advance as we are switching out the PLC and I need to access these statuses. It may be necessary to monitor for over/underrange values, such as over 30840 or under 0, to detect any loop failure or a flatline condition.
Hey there, I've worked with similar systems before. You can indeed access the statuses for each channel. I believe the individual status bits including the underrange bit are accessible through the input data image in the 1794-ADN. You may need to do some digging into the user manual to find the correct bit offset. It's essential to refer to the manual for specifics, as these can vary between different devices and models. Good luck with your configuration!
