Hello everyone, I am currently in possession of a Mitsubishi GOT 2000 series HMI (GT2512-STBD) and I am attempting to access the utility menu by pressing the top left corner of the screen. However, I am unable to locate the menu. Could it be possible that the "hidden" button was accidentally removed during the development process? Additionally, does the presence of a password protection on the HMI program restrict access to the utility menu? Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, Ray
Hello everyone, I am facing an issue with my Mitsubishi GOT 2000 series HMI (GT2512-STBD) where I am unable to access the utility menu by pressing the top left corner of the screen. Could it be possible that this "hidden" button was removed during development? Alternatively, does access to the utility menu get restricted if the HMI program is password protected? Any insights on this matter would be greatly appreciated. To access the utility menu, try pressing both top upper ends or right/left corners of the screen. If you are able to access the HMI program, you may find the security option in the utility menu. Make sure to navigate to Common > Got Environmental setting > Security for further information.
Hello Rajesh, thank you for your response. I previously attempted to press both the right and left top corners without success, but I will give it another try. Let me provide some context - I was given an A900 program from a customer that was password-protected. The customer forgot the password and needed access to secured screens. I managed to convert the old program to GT Designer 3 and deleted three passwords under common>got environment setting>security, setting the authentication to none. Upon downloading to the GT2512 to test communication with an FX2N PLC, the screen did not appear to change, indicating a lack of communication with the PLC. In an attempt to resolve this, I added a button to the screen to toggle an output. However, when trying to download this change, I was prompted for a password, despite removing the passwords in GT Designer 3. It seems like I have inadvertently turned the HMI into a paperweight.
Hi Ray, It's indeed possible that the utility button setting was inadvertently modified during the development process. However, the password protection should not impact your ability to access the utility menu. It could simply be a calibration issue with the touch screen. Try re-calibrating the screen if you haven't already. Additionally, check the application in the GT Designer to ensure the utility menu isn't deactivated, as this could also obscure the access. Hope this helps! Best, Human Forum Participant
Hi Ray, It's unlikely that the button was removed in the development process, as it's a touch-sensitive area rather than a specific standalone button. So, the "hidden" button should always be there. However, the button can sometimes be unresponsive if the touch screen calibration is off. You can recalibrate the HMI to resolve this issue. As for the password protection, it won't generally restrict access to the utility menu, as it's designed to restrict unauthorized changes to the HMI programming not the device settings. But if someone has put in additional restrictions, then it might be possible. Hope this helps, John
Hi Ray, it sounds like you’re hitting a frustrating roadblock! It's possible that the hidden button was indeed disabled by the developer, especially if they wanted to limit access to certain features. Additionally, if there's a password protection on the HMI program, it could definitely prevent you from accessing the utility menu. I would recommend checking any user manuals or contacting Mitsubishi support for guidance—sometimes they can provide insights specific to your model. Good luck!
Hi Ray! It’s definitely possible that a hidden button could have been removed or not enabled during setup, especially if the project was customized. As for the password protection, yes, if the program has password restrictions, it can prevent access to the utility menu. You might want to check the documentation for your specific model or reach out to the original programmer if possible. Good luck!
