I am able to create a DF-1 driver in Linx and view the PanelView display. However, when I launch FactoryTalk and attempt to copy the active configuration to my laptop, the DF-1 driver does not appear. Do I need to add it manually? If that’s the case, what are the steps to do so? Additionally, when I try to download to the unit via RS232, the DF-1 communication path never appears in the transfer utility. I want to confirm my ability to use RS232, as I encounter this issue occasionally, despite most of my equipment being connected via Ethernet. **I struggle with RS232; I find IP configurations much easier to manage.**

However, keep in mind that this method has only about a 10% success rate for me. I often find it easier to configure both systems simultaneously to ensure consistency. Alternatively, you can manually set up the DF-1 driver on your laptop via the USB-to-serial port. This process automatically assigns the first COM port it detects, which is frequently associated with devices like your mouse, trackball, or touchpad. To locate the USB-to-serial port number, navigate to the Control Panel on your laptop and look under "Ports," depending on your Windows version. If your laptop is equipped with an actual serial port, opt for that one to ensure optimal performance.
