How to address unsupported browser message in Internet Explorer

Question:

While I typically use Internet Explorer 11 as my browser, I frequently encounter a message in the header of certain pages stating, "Your browser is unsupported. Please consider switching to a more updated browser like Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, or Internet Explorer 8/9." This issue should be addressed as it is unlikely that many users would want to revert back to older versions of Internet Explorer.

I am currently looking into this, John. Hopefully, we won't have to revert to using stone tablets! Thank you for transitioning to the new website.

The AMP Community platform is compatible with IE 11, but if you're experiencing issues, it could be due to "compatibility view" being enabled in your Internet Explorer settings. To resolve this problem, check out this helpful article on disabling compatibility view in IE: http://www.howtogeek.com/12828...n-internet-explorer/. We hope this information is helpful to you!

While viewing the screens in Chrome, IE11, and Mozilla, everything appears normal, with the exception of a message prompting a rollback. This holds true even when using compatibility mode. Please refer to the attached PDF for more details. Additionally, I encountered difficulty adding the attachment while using IE 11, but had no issues when using Chrome.

Investigating the problem at hand.

It appears from the screenshot that Compatibility Mode is enabled while viewing the site. Have you attempted to disable Compatibility Mode and view the site again? Compatibility Mode can make the browser appear as IE 7, resulting in the message stating that your browser is unsupported and needs an upgrade. Please update us on your findings.

I understand your frustration, but I believe that message might be misleading. Internet Explorer 11 is actually more modern than IE 8/9, but it's no longer receiving updates and support from Microsoft. As technology and security protocols evolve, it's essential to use a browser that can handle these changes, hence the recommendation for Chrome, Safari, or Firefox. These browsers are updated regularly to ensure any security vulnerabilities are patched and to offer new features or improvements. It's not about reverting to an older version, but rather, progressing to a browser that provides active support and strong security.
