Hello, I understand the frustration of still using the outdated MP2 Access 2000 version. I have made attempts to update the default data directory of the app in various locations, including the ini file, ODBC configuration in Control Panel, and the Registry's App Paths. Unfortunately, these changes have had no effect. The current data path is \\foo\MP2_Data, but we are looking to switch it to \\bar\MP2_Data. I am unsure of what steps I am missing or what I am doing wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Please note that mapping to a network drive letter is not possible, and we are not considering a re-installation. Thank you, Tom.
It appears that you are following the correct steps, but further investigation is needed to provide assistance. It may be necessary to remotely access your setup in order to troubleshoot the issue effectively.
Jonathan from CDG mentioned that it seems like you're following the correct steps. However, he believes that further investigation and potentially remote access into your setup may be necessary to provide assistance. Unfortunately, without a support contract, you may be on your own. Nevertheless, feel free to leave it as is or attempt to make changes for improvement. If you decide to try again, consider exploring the registry and checking for any changes in the user profile. Thank you for your patience and efforts. - Tom
Hi Tom, wow, it seems like you've tried quite a few avenues to resolve this. Since you've mentioned ODBC configuration, I'm assuming this is related to the backend database like SQL Server. One thing you could try is to reconfigure your database connection within MP2 itself, if it provides such an option in the settings. In some cases, outdated software might not support UNC paths directly, and you might need to use an IP address/server name instead. Do remember to backup before any modification. Good luck and keep us updated!
