How to Communicate with Schneider PLC Using Red Lion Crimson 3.0 and Unity Pro XL

Question:

Hello! This is my first time utilizing the Red Lion OIT software, specifically the Crimson 3.0 version. I am wondering if it is possible to establish communication between the Crimson software and Unity Pro XL without the need for an OIT unit. I am currently using an emulator. I have attempted to set up the network through manual configuration and assigning an IP address. I have utilized the Schneider Modbus TCP/IP driver for Protocol 1. The IP address configured in Block 1 matches the PLC address. Additionally, I have created data tags and assigned tag addresses that mirror those on the PLC. However, I am experiencing difficulties and would appreciate any assistance in communicating with the Schneider PLC. Thank you.

Yna inquired about integrating the redlion OIT software with the unity pro xl, specifically using the crimson 3.0 emulator. Despite configuring the network manually and assigning an IP address, communication with the Schneider PLC has proven unsuccessful. Assistance is sought to establish successful communication. To resolve this, the emulator should be configured in Link > Options to align with the port on the computer. Your guidance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Jeremy for your assistance. Despite my attempts to adjust the tags, they are still not communicating correctly. I experimented with subtracting 1 from the tag address, for example changing %M4120 to %M04119 on the crimson software. This method successfully worked for digital IO, but I am unsure if it is the correct approach. I am now facing issues with the analog values, as the crimson is reading an unstable value of 1.0745E-12 instead of a floating point value, even though the tag configuration is set to float. How can I resolve this issue?

Could you please send me your document via email at [email protected]?

Hello Jeremy! Just wanted to update you that I have successfully resolved my issue with communicating with Schneider PLC. It turns out the problem was due to an error in the network device configuration - specifically, the real data byte order was not set correctly. Thank you for your help.
