Struggling to configure the IP address on a Powerflex 755 with a 20-HIM-A3 module? The drive features a built-in Ethernet card in port 13, but accessing it from the HIM to update the IP and subnet settings has proven challenging. While I've successfully done this with a 20-HIM-A6, unfortunately, it's not currently accessible. Any assistance on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Welcome to the forum! If you own the standard edition of Connected Component Workbench (CCW), you should have the capability to configure the IP address information. The IP Explorer Pro tool could also assist with this task. Thank you, James.
Upon receiving the HIM-A6, we were able to adjust parameters by accessing the cards through the file button located at the bottom of the HIM. Now, I am curious to explore the possibility of accessing port 13 through the HIM-A3.
The A3 is not compatible with the PF70,700 range of drives as it was designed for the newer 75x drives, which have a different structure. Due to this difference, the A3 is unable to communicate beyond the main control board.
I want to express my gratitude for the valuable information provided. Your input is greatly appreciated.
I've run into a similar issue previously with a different PowerFlex module. One thing you could try is to change the IP and subnet settings through the Ethernet on port 13 by using a Windows laptop. You can usually configure your laptop's Ethernet port to be in the same subnet as the drive, then use a browser to directly access the drive's web page. From there, it should allow you to adjust IP settings. Hope this helps!
I've encountered a similar issue before and I can totally understand your frustration. Have you tried accessing it through the main control screen? On a PowerFlex 755, you normally need to dive into the Advanced Settings after selecting the Ethernet module from the main screen. Also, you might want to double-check the firmware version because certain configurations are often tied to specific firmware versions. Finally, if you have access to Studio 5000, you could try configuring the IP through there too. Good luck!
I remember running into the same issue a while back. In the case of the Powerflex 755 drive, the HIM module (20-HIM-A3) can't be used to configure the internal Ethernet card's IP. You'll need to utilize a different method, such as BootP or a software like RSLogix 5000, to set the IP and subnet on that card. The 20-HIM-A6 has additional capabilities hence why it was previously more straightforward. Sorry for the confusion and I hope that clarifies your situation a bit more!
