I need assistance with configuring the analog output signal on my OPTRIS CSL-LT-SF laser temperature sensor, which I have set up to measure the temperature of a corrugator web. Despite following the manual's instructions to configure 4-20mA = 0-500°C, the temperature readings are not accurate when connected to a PLC. Can someone please provide guidance on this issue?
For the default settings provided in the manual, the temperature range is 0-500 degrees Celsius. If you are experiencing inaccuracies in the readings, it may be due to the PLC analog input you are connecting it to. Consider the resolution and scaling of the analog input. How do the temperature readings change as the temperature fluctuates? Thank you.
Are you verifying the accurate temperature measurement? Or is the displayed value significantly inaccurate?
I'm bumping this thread because I suddenly acquired three sensors for a process oven, but there aren't many instructions available. After removing the cover, I found several terminal blocks that are confusing: https://imgur.com/a/cBS7ROg2 GNDs. Should I apply 0vdc to the first GND? I'm unsure about the functions of F1, F2, F3, and 3v sw, but I suspect 3v sw is a 3 volt switch. Has anyone had experience with these sensors before?
Answer: - To configure the analog output signal on the OPTRIS CSL-LT-SF sensor, follow the manual's instructions for setting 4-20mA = 0-500°C. If the readings are inaccurate when connected to a PLC, there may be additional steps or settings needed for proper calibration.
Answer: - Inaccurate temperature readings with the OPTRIS CSL-LT-SF sensor connected to a PLC could be due to incorrect calibration, improper configuration of the analog output signal, or compatibility issues between the sensor and the PLC. Troubleshooting these factors can help resolve the issue.
Answer: - If the OPTRIS CSL-LT-SF sensor is not providing accurate temperature readings, check the calibration settings, ensure proper connection to the PLC, verify compatibility with the system, and consider environmental factors that could affect the sensor's performance. Adjustments or recalibration may be necessary to improve accuracy.
