Hello everyone, I am currently utilizing the TM221CE16R controller for my plant automation needs. This Schneider Electric controller exclusively accepts a 24V DC input, where any voltage below 5V is classified as low and anything above 15V is considered high. I am facing a challenge as I plan to incorporate sensors for water level detection; however, I am certain that none of these sensors can provide a 24V output. As a potential solution, I could configure the sensors to act as a switch, providing a 24V supply to the PLC, but I'd prefer to explore other options before resorting to this. Do you have any suggestions or alternatives? Thank you for your help!
Many point level detection systems utilize basic switches that toggle an applied voltage. However, standard level detectors often struggle with handling 24V DC inputs.
Are these options trustworthy? Could you provide some links where I can purchase them?
Have you considered using a relay or a solid-state switch to interface your sensors with the TM221CE16R? You could have the sensors operate on their native voltage and then use the relay to translate that signal to the 24V DC input that the PLC needs. Another option might be to look for sensors that have a higher output voltage range or even a combination of analog sensors that can provide a 0-10V output, which you can then convert to a suitable level for your controller. This way, you can avoid the hassle of directly modifying the sensors and keep your system flexible!
Have you considered using a signal conditioner or a relay module that can interface with your sensors? Many of them can convert lower voltage signals to 24V, making them compatible with your TM221CE16R. An alternative approach could also involve using a 24V power supply for your sensors if they can operate at that voltage, ensuring a consistent signal to the PLC without needing additional switching configurations. Just make sure to double-check the specifications of your sensors to avoid any compatibility issues!
