Subject: Need Assistance Detecting Ethernet Connection Issues Between S7-300 PLC and Siemens HMI Hello everyone, I apologize if this topic has already been covered; unfortunately, the forum doesn’t allow me to search before posting. I'm looking for solutions to identify connection failures between a Siemens S7-300 PLC—programmed using Simatic Manager—and a Siemens HMI, which is developed in TIA Portal. I recently replaced the cabling, and it seems to have rectified some issues, but I was then asked if there’s a method to detect when an Ethernet cable loses connection with the PLC. Does anyone know of a specific status bit that can be monitored for this purpose, or perhaps have a script that can be utilized? I have very limited experience with scripting and would appreciate any guidance. Thank you in advance for your help!

The DeviceStates (FC802) block by Siemens is designed specifically for ProfiNet and ProfiBus communication protocols. However, to my knowledge, there is currently no equivalent block available for Ethernet networks.
