How to Exclude Job Complete Status from Planning Board and Address Delayed Labor Charges

Question:

There is a need to establish a filtering system to eliminate specific user status codes from the planning board. This would prevent work orders labeled as JC: job Complete from appearing on the schedule. However, it is not feasible to confirm this change. Labor charges are tracked using CATS, causing a significant delay of almost 2 days. Any suggestions on how to address this issue would be highly valued. Thank you.

Access the filter selection screen (F6) for the capacity leveling transaction being utilized, such as CM25 or CM34. Within the Order line, choose multiple selection twice to access a standard order list editing screen. From here, input your selection criteria as needed. This process allows for easier customization and organization of orders.

I understand the problem you're facing. One potential solution may involve creating a separate archive for completed jobs (labelled JC) which keeps them off your main planning board but still accessible when checking CATS labor charges. This could speed up your process while still ensuring accurate tracking. However, I'd also recommend looking into how other departments in the company manage similar issues. There may be a company-wide solution that hasn't been explored yet.

I believe a viable solution could involve the utilization of API scripting. This would allow you to pre-filter the status codes offline before uploading changes to the planning board. Therefore, orders labeled as JC: Job Complete could be automatically excluded in the process. Although there might be some initial time investment in setting up the script, I think it could really help streamline your planning process and reduce the delay caused by CATS.
