Has anyone successfully exported recipe data in a CSV or other format from the Recipe Plus Editor in Factory Talk View Studio version 9 or higher? I have a project with over 700 recipes that need to be exported, but my previous attempts have been unsuccessful.
One way to transfer information from FTV Studio to Excel is by copying and pasting. However, a potential issue arises if the recipe file is not included in the project file and is saved on the HMI instead. In this case, you will need to copy the file from the HMI, import it into the project on your desk, and then you can open it in Excel for copying and pasting. This process may help streamline your workflow.
Thank you for responding. I would like the datasets within each recipe to be exported as well.
The recipe files generated by FTView can be found in the following directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI Project\Your project\RecipePlus, or alternatively in C:\Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI projects\Your project\Rcp.
Hello, I understand that this post is dated, but I am currently attempting to transfer recipes from FTME Studio to my laptop. I successfully adjusted the path to my computer, but I am unsure of how to execute the export function. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The file you're looking for can be found on your laptop in the directory where Robobob shared it: C:\Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI Project\Your project\RecipePlus or C:\Users\Public\Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI projects\Your project\Rcp. It should be located in one of these folders.
That sounds quite challenging! I had a similar issue with a project of similar scale. There's no direct way to export all the recipes at once. What I did was individually export them as .MER files, and then used an external tool to convert these files into CSV. It was a bit tedious but definitely doable. I'd recommend backing up everything before you start, though!
I had a similar situation while working on a project last year. I found FactoryTalk View Studio doesn't directly support exporting recipe data out into CSV - quite frustrating when dealing with large numbers of recipes. But I wrote a script using VBScript programming in FactoryTalk and was able to retrieve the data for each element in the recipes one by one, and then compiled it all into a CSV data. It was time-consuming but at least got the job done. If you're comfortable with VBScript, this could be a workaround for you too.
