I am currently working with a Logix5572S Processor (KIBO213) and am in search of its IP address. While I have successfully located the IP addresses of the Ethernet Modules (1756-ENBTs), I am unable to find the IP address of the unit itself. I have explored the controller properties within RSlogix 5000, but there is no information available regarding IP addressing. Is it possible to point to the 1756 ENBT instead? My inability to upload from the 1756 is causing some concern. Any assistance or literature you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Typically, I find it easy to view and change processor IP settings, but this particular situation is proving to be quite challenging.
In the event of a shutdown, I will troubleshoot by isolating and rebooting the network system if I encounter any issues. The processor lacks a direct ethernet port and only connects to modules through the backplane. This setup may require additional troubleshooting steps to ensure seamless connectivity.
ControlLogix processors from the 80 series are the only ones equipped with an ethernet port. For other models, you will need to use an ethernet card and access the processor through the backplane to perform tasks like uploading or downloading programs, as well as monitoring and editing online.
Thank you for your response. I still need guidance on where to locate the program. Would it be the IP address 126.129.1.1?
As mentioned by Alan, the L7x series does not come equipped with an ethernet port. To establish a connection, you will need to utilize an ENxT module.
Should the processor maintain its own unique IP address?
I can see how this could be puzzling as processors such as Logix5572S don't actually have their own IP addresses. The IP address is associated with the Ethernet module in the rack and not the controller itself. So, yes, you should definitely refer to the 1756-ENBT module's IP address instead. Your inability to upload maybe more related to the communication settings, ensure you've set your driver to point to the correct IP. If the issue persists, take precautions and check your firmware compatibility and connection path, or consider a firmware update for the module. Hope this helps!

Answer: Answer: The IP address of the Logix5572S Processor can typically be found by accessing the controller properties within RSlogix 5000. However, in some cases, this information may not be readily available. You may consider looking for alternative methods, such as pointing to the IP address of the Ethernet Modules (1756-ENBTs) connected to the processor.
Answer: Answer: Yes, if you are unable to locate the IP address of the Logix5572S Processor directly, you can try using the IP addresses of the connected Ethernet Modules (1756-ENBTs) as a reference point. This approach might help in troubleshooting and resolving any connectivity issues.
Answer: Answer: Difficulties in uploading from the 1756 ENBT Ethernet Modules could be due to various factors, including incorrect IP configurations, network settings, or connectivity issues. It is essential to ensure that the IP addresses are correctly set up and that the network connection is stable to facilitate successful uploads.
