Hello everyone, I have SCADA software called Vijeo Citect and I am looking to configure it to print alarms using a Dot Matrix Printer.
Adel Abd El Aziz inquired: "Hello everyone! I have SCADA software Vijeo Citect and I am looking to print alarms using a Dot Matrix Printer. What version of Citect are you using? Are you interested in printing each alarm individually as it becomes active, or would you prefer to print the entire list at once?"
Dear [Recipient], I am currently using version 7.2 and would like to automatically print each activated alarm.
In a recent statement, Adel Abd El Aziz discussed the need to print each active alarm in version 7.2. To achieve this, it is necessary to set the log device of alarm categories to the printer. However, additional configuration settings are required to ensure the printer prints line by line. For more information on how to configure this, refer to KB articles Q5633, Q2002, Q2200, Q1113, and Q1773.
I appreciate your help, everything is now fine and resolved.
Hello Everyone, I am looking to automatically print active alarms from Citect V7.3 on my EPSON LQ-350 printer connected to an old PC with a built-in LPT port. I have attempted to print a test page using the parallel port (LPT1), but the printer did not produce any output. Previously, the active alarms were successfully printed using a USB cable. However, a new issue has emerged where the system prints all alarms on one page when an alarm toggles on and off. Does anyone have suggestions on how to print active alarms line by line without resetting the whole page after each printing? Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Hello there! I've had experience with Vijeo Citect before. Firstly, you'll need to create a new printer form in Vijeo Citect. This involves defining the form name, specifications, and port. Then, on the Alarm Server, create a new PrintAlarm() Cicode function. This function will be responsible for alarm printing. Lastly, link this function to a specific alarm category or alarm property (like priority). This way, whenever this certain alarm category is triggered, the PrintAlarm() function would automatically print the alarm details using your Dot Matrix Printer. Remember, since it's a Dot Matrix Printer, adjust the specifications accordingly in the form. There are plenty of tutorials online that expand on this subject. Good luck!
Hi there! Please ensure that your printer is connected and its drivers are properly installed. After that, you need to configure the alarm settings in Vijeo Citect software. You can do this by navigating to the alarm properties and setting the 'Print Alarm' option to 'Yes'. Remember, the alarm needs to be acknowledged before it can be printed. Also, keep in mind that the print format and destination are defined by the Cicode function 'TrnPrintLog'. If you face any issues, feel free to ask. Happy configuring!
Hi! Configuring Vijeo Citect to print alarms on a Dot Matrix Printer can be a bit tricky, but it's definitely doable. You'll want to ensure your printer is set up correctly in Windows and that you have the right drivers installed. In Citect, check the print settings in your alarm configuration to make sure you're directing the output to the correct printer port. It might also help to create a custom report format that fits the printer’s capabilities since Dot Matrix printers often require specific formatting to print cleanly. Let me know if you need more detailed steps!
Hi there! Configuring Vijeo Citect to print alarms on a dot matrix printer can be a bit tricky, but it’s definitely doable. You’ll want to set up a system log to capture the alarms first, then create a custom report format that fits your printer's requirements. Make sure to check the printer settings for compatibility with the software, and consider using an intermediate application to format the print jobs if needed. It could also help to look into any available documentation or user forums for specific tips! Good luck!
