Greetings, we are facing a challenge with our machine that has multiple user logins. Unfortunately, we have forgotten the user ID and password of the account that has editing permissions for recipes. Our HMI software is developed in Cimplicity 4, and we currently only have access to the viewer. We do have the SwxCF backup file at our disposal. Is there a way to retrieve the lost passwords and user IDs without utilizing the editing program?
If the administrator account hasn't been erased, the default login credentials may still be effective. You can try entering "ADMINISTRATOR" as the username and "CIMPLICITY" as the password (all in capital letters), or vice versa with "CIMPLICITY" as the username and "ADMINISTRATOR" as the password. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a known workaround for bypassing this.
I will attempt to access the highest level tomorrow to edit the recipes. Thank you for letting me know!
In order for the viewer to function properly, a server must be operational. Locate the program "WORKBENCH" to access the Security tab where you can update usernames and passwords. Is the default setting for the "administrator" username blank?
Are you in need of someone who can provide assistance with unlocking usernames and passwords for CIMPLICITY projects? If so, look no further for reliable support in accessing your projects.

Hello, sorry to hear about your trouble - I've faced similar issues with my Cimplicity setup before. Although you may not retrieve your lost passwords and user IDs directly, there is an approach you might want to try. Using the SwxCF backup file, you can restore the project in another machine where you have access to the engineering software. After restoration, you should be able to retrieve the user IDs and reset the passwords. You can then use these to log in to your main machine. This might sound a bit lengthy but it has worked for me in the past. Just ensure you follow the software literature whilst performing the restore. Good luck!
Hey there, it sounds like you're in a tough spot. I've faced a similar issue before when dealing with a Cimplicity system. Although you cannot directly recover the username and password, there's a way around it. Assuming you have admin privileges, you can create a new user with the same privileges as the one you've lost access to. Then you can access the system with the new user ID and modify the lost one's password. Remember to always keep a record of your user IDs and passwords in a safe place next time to prevent these kinds of issues. Good luck!
