How to Reset Danfoss VLT FC302 to Factory Settings Using Keypad

Question:

Apologies for the question, I am currently working abroad with a time difference from my supplier. Can anyone help me locate the setting to reset a drive to its factory settings using the keypad? I have successfully set up 3 drives via ethernet for controllogix, but I am struggling with a second-hand drive provided by the client for a fourth. It seems there is a specific setting that differs from the brand new drives I programmed previously. Thank you.

In group 14 (special functions), the parameter 1422 must be adjusted from (0) to (2) in order for the change to take effect, followed by power cycling.

The latest line of drives does not include parameters 14-22. Numerous search results mention a '3 finger reset' for Danfoss FC 302 drives, but details on which buttons to press are scarce. To perform the reset, start with the drive powered off and press and hold the Status, Main Menu, and OK buttons. Power up the drive and release the buttons when you hear a 'click'. The display will cycle off and on, showing A80. That's all there is to it.

I've had a similar issue in the past with a second-hand drive. Typically, these drives may have previous settings that intervene with the reconfiguration process. To reset the drive to factory settings, the specific steps might vary slightly depending on the model, but generally, you would need to access the drive's settings via the keypad. Look for 'Menu', then 'Setup' - there should be a 'Factory Reset' or an 'Initial Setup' option in there. Keep in mind, any custom configurations will be lost after the reset, you'll need to reinput them once the reset is complete. Don’t hesitate to revisit the user manual if you face any more hurdles, as the troubleshooting section could have a solution too.

Hi there! It sounds like you might be dealing with a drive that has some pre-existing settings. I've faced a similar issue in the past. However, the process to reset the drive to factory settings can vary based on the brand or model of the drive. Can you tell us more about the make and model of the drive in question? Additionally, sometimes the reset procedure isn't always immediately accessible from the drive's keypad - the manufacturers often use a more advanced method to prevent accidental resets. As I recall, on some drives, there can be a combination of keystrokes to carry out a full reset. But again, please provide more specific details about the drive, so I, or someone else, can guide you more accurately.
