I am facing a MMI port issue on my G4 board and am unsure of the IP address. However, I believe the port is functioning. Is there a way to restore the device to its factory settings without a PCCU connection? Are there any reset buttons or similar functions that can help me reset it to its original factory state?
If you're looking to reset your device to factory settings, refer to section 5 of the manual available for download at the following link: https://library.e.abb.com/public/6adce26f535aaf3d8525723b007de6c4/2100726-001 AF.pdf.
Although arriving late to the scene, you can easily obtain inexpensive or even complimentary USB cables compatible with G4 and G5 totalflows. These cables feature both USB A and USB B connectors. Simply connect a USB A to USB A or B, or USB A to DB9 cable to the board just like you would with a military connector. Download some G4 flashes tailored to your specific board to potentially resolve any Com0 issues. Access the 32bit Loader to load the flash and assess if it resolves any issues. If COM1 or COM2 functions properly, you can access the board from there, although it may not be a straightforward process.
Hi there! It sounds like a tricky situation you're in. Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, G4 boards don't typically come with a hard reset button. That said, if your MMi port is indeed functioning, you should be able to navigate through the device's interface to locate the factory reset option. If you're having trouble identifying the IP address, consider checking your DHCP server where the board might have received its IP address from. If all else fails, some devices can be reset by interrupting their power source three times, but I'd regard this as a last resort simply because it's not ideal for the device's longevity.
