I'm seeking a solution to switch lighting profiles on an Advanced Illumination DCS-100E lighting controller using a PLC, specifically the Allen-Bradley 1756-PA72 model. This lighting controller utilizes an SCPI-like interface, which allows for commands to be executed via readable strings with parameters separated by commas. For these commands to function correctly, they must be terminated with a semicolon (‘;’). You can send these commands in ASCII format by specifying the appropriate IP address and port number for either TCP/IP or UDP communication. My goal is to find a method to enable the Allen-Bradley PLC to dictate which lighting profile the DCS-100E operates under when triggered. The lighting controller will be connected to the network switch of the machine and is accessible via its address. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to achieve this integration, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thank you!
The PA72 serves as a reliable power supply. But what exactly is a PLC? You might consider utilizing the Prosoft MVI56-GEC as an effective solution for your needs.
