Join Our Industrial Automation QandA Initiative on Stack Exchange Area 51!

Question:

Greetings! We are excited to share our proposal for a Q&A platform focused on industrial automation within the Stack Exchange Network. We invite all interested contributors to join us in this initiative. If we gather enough active participants, our project will be featured on Stack Overflow and Super User. Currently, we are in the definition phase, where the specific topic and target audience are still being determined. To advance to the next stage, we require 60 followers and an additional 40 questions that receive a score of 10 or higher. Our proposal can be found on the Area 51 proposal site. Please note that Area 51 serves as the staging ground for the Stack Exchange Network, where users collaborate to create new Q&A platforms. Here, new site concepts are proposed, discussed, and the most promising ideas move forward to the beta phase. For further details, please refer to our FAQ. Thank you for your interest and participation!

What are the advantages of choosing a Stack Exchange forum over this one?

User cardosocea commented: "What advantages does a Stack Exchange forum offer compared to this one? Click to expand... It may not necessarily be about superiority. However, having a presence across multiple platforms can be beneficial. The integration with other prominent tech forums, such as Stack Overflow as mentioned in the original post, can greatly enhance the user experience. Additionally, a modern platform can also provide significant advantages."

Carretto remarked: "I believe that establishing a presence on multiple platforms is advantageous. The integration with other prominent technology forums, such as Stack Overflow, can significantly enhance user experience and convenience. Additionally, the modern design of the platform contributes to its usability. Many users here are already active on various platforms, yet this particular forum remains the most vibrant when it comes to discussions and knowledge sharing about PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and related equipment. While a dedicated PLC community on Reddit exists, it doesn't match the level of engagement found here. There’s another modern-themed forum that, unfortunately, lacks sufficient interaction between brands and platforms, and a LinkedIn group that primarily focuses on marketing rather than meaningful exchanges. Stack Overflow does provide valuable resources for those dealing with networking and general IT issues, making it a helpful tool for many users. However, I question its effectiveness specifically for PLC topics. Regardless, I wish you all the best with your endeavors, and I hope my somewhat uninformed opinion doesn’t deter you."
