When using the planning leveling board (cm24), it displays the work center along with the associated individuals and their available capacity. However, the displayed work center capacity does not accurately reflect the total available capacity, as it only shows individual capacities (e.g. 11 hrs/day for employee A). Is there a way for the system to consider the shift schedules of individuals in the work center to provide a total available capacity for the work center? While I can maintain the work center basic capacity, managing a large crew with multiple shifts can be challenging. Any suggestions on how to streamline this process? Thank you.
Hey Sask, I've encountered this challenge before, and SAP offers specific OSS notes to help you achieve your request. If the attachments I provided don't work, remember these two important OSS note numbers: Note 214695 for Capacity Evaluations and HR Information, and Note 326056 for Capacity Evaluations and HR Information. Make sure to get your Basis group to implement these notes for you. Wishing you the best of luck! - Pete S.

Interesting point you've raised here. I've been dealing with a similar issue in the past and found that one possible solution might be to use an ERP system that allows you to integrate employee shift scheduling with overall work center capacity. This way, you'll be able to manage the capacity of each employee along with the total availability in the work center based on all shifts. Such systems can also automate the process of calculating total capacities, hence reducing the manual work significantly. Hope that helps.
One way to tackle this issue may be to incorporate a custom planning board which factors in the shift systems. By doing this, you're enabling the board to consider variances in the shift schedules which could subsequently result in a more accurate representation of total available capacity. I'd also advise setting up a user-defined strategy in capacity leveling that can better account for the variations in shift schedules. I understand managing large crews can be challenging; exploring customizable choices in your CM24 settings could allow you to find a setup that works more efficiently for your needs.
