Hello everyone! This is my first time posting on this fantastic forum. I am facing a problem with my S7-200 PLC and Winview HMI. The project file for the HMI has been lost, and I am specifically having trouble with the 226CN model. I need to access the project file to understand the various tags and program the HMI accordingly. Additionally, I am looking to recover the PLC password safely. Can anyone assist me with this issue?
Unauthorized access to password-protected systems, commonly referred to as "breaking passwords" or using "back-door" methods, is prohibited on this forum. If you have legally obtained rights to access a certain application, it is recommended that you contact the equipment manufacturer for project recovery assistance. However, some manufacturers may still be unable to grant access even with valid documentation.
Looking for a cloned Siemens PLC specific to China? Find the Microwin software version you require and learn how to operate it on this site. Please note that this is a cloned device and good luck with your endeavors. Keep in mind that we do not provide instructions for back doors, and Siemens may not offer assistance either.
Thank you for your response and assistance. I want to clarify that the machine in question is not a clone, but rather one that I personally purchased from a Chinese manufacturer. I have the legal rights to obtain a backup of the software or the password for it. Unfortunately, this issue caused a breakdown in my production line. I have reached out to the manufacturer, who claims they are not aware of any password or issue. I have resolved the issue by clearing the CPU and reprogramming the PLC and HMI. Thank you once again for your help.
If you need assistance with your Siemens automation system, make sure to reach out to the machine manufacturer. They may have the expertise to address your concerns. Don't hesitate to seek support from professionals who are familiar with your specific equipment configuration.
I mentioned that the PLC's CPU is a Chinese-made Siemens clone, which is not officially supported by Siemens. This information is evident from the product's CN, as discussed in numerous forum posts.
Hi there, welcome to the forum! I understand your predicament. Unfortunately, if the project file for the HMI is lost, you won't be able to retrieve it unless you have a backup. However, you can still create a new project. As for the tags, examine the PLC program, this might help in understanding the tag structure. With regards to the PLC password, I must remind you that discussions about bypassing PLC passwords are against forum rules due to legal and ethical reasons. You may have to contact the manufacturer or vendor directly for help regarding your PLC password.
Hey there, welcome to the forum! Dealing with lost project files can indeed be a headache. For the Winview HMI, unfortunately, there's usually no straightforward means of obtaining the project file if it's lost as these are typically stored locally. As for the tags, you could attempt a workaround by observing the PLC-HMI communication and analyzing the addresses & bits in use. Regarding PLC password recovery, depending on your PLC version, it might involve a factory reset or using specialized software, but be cautious because it might also result in program loss. I'd suggest reaching out directly to Siemens technical support for reliable and safe assistance.
Hello and welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your problem. Unfortunately, retrieving the lost project file can be a bit tricky. Typically, the HMI project is stored and programmed on your device, and if lost, it's not always possible to recover it directly from the HMI. You might need to recreate the project from scratch, although I know it's not ideal. For the tags, you may want to check the PLC program for comments or clues, as often the tags used in the HMI are referenced there. Regarding the PLC password, Siemens doesn't normally provide a way to recover the password on the S7-200 due to safety concerns - and it's important not to use illegal means as it could damage your PLC. Your best bet may be to reach out to your Siemens support center for assistance. Please do back up your files next time to avoid such issues. Good luck!
Hey there, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your issue, losing a project file can indeed be frustrating. For your Siemens PLC, try using S7 Data Archiver or a similar tool to backup data blocks from your PLC. This might help you retrieve a majority of your tags. Regarding the HMI, regrettably, if the project file is lost, you'd need to rebuild the application. Most HMIs do not provide a reverse engineering capability because of the risk associated with intellectual property. As per recovering the PLC password, there are some third-party tools available, but remember to use them responsibly and ethically as they're usually not officially endorsed. Alternatively, you can consult with Siemens Support, they might be able to help. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your project file troubles; that can be really frustrating. For the S7-200 with Winview, if you don't have a backup, you might want to check if any colleagues or collaborators have a copy of the project file. As for the PLC password recovery, it's usually best to refer to the manufacturer's guidelines, but I know some users have had success with resetting it through certain procedures or tools available for that model. Good luck, and I hope you get everything sorted out!
Welcome to the forum! Losing a project file can be really frustrating, especially when it comes to programming an HMI like the 226CN. Unfortunately, if you don't have a backup, you might have to start from scratch unless someone on here has shared a similar project you could use as a reference. As for recovering the PLC password, a common approach is to check if your PLC documentation offers any factory reset procedures, but keep in mind this might wipe current settings. There are also tools and services that specialize in retrieving passwords if you're stuck. Good luck, and hope you find the help you need!
