TP1900 HMI Screen Turns Off After 13 Seconds - Runtime Stop Issue

Question:

Hello, I am encountering a problem with my TP1900 HMI where the screen works fine after downloading the program for the first time. However, when any modifications are made or the HMI screen is downloaded again, it displays for 13 seconds before the Runtime turns off automatically. This issue persists in simulations as well. No errors occur during compilation of both hardware and software. I am using TIA V17. Could you please provide advice on how to resolve this issue? Best regards, Balajiram

Hello, I have encountered a strange problem recently. To resolve it, make sure you are using the latest update of TiaPortal V17, preferably update 5. Additionally, be sure to install the image panel update on your PC and update the firmware of the HMI. Before downloading, ensure to compile all aspects of the project as sometimes a simple compile may not be sufficient. You can skip the update and directly attempt to compile all components. Thank you, gigiA.

Hey Balajiram, this sure sounds like a tricky issue. One thing you might want to look into is whether the system's power settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, settings that cause your system to sleep or shut off after a certain period of inactivity may be interfering with your HMI runtime. Also, ensure your device's IP address doesn't conflict with another device on your network. Lastly, you may want to consider upgrading to TIA V17 Update 1 if you haven't already, as that update resolved a number of stability issues. Hope this helps!

Hey Balajiram, I've encountered a similar issue in the past. Essentially, this may be happening due to a software glitch or a memory overflow. As an initial step, I'd recommend verifying that you're running the latest firmware update for your TP1900 HMI, as there may have been patches to address such issues. If you're already running the latest firmware, you might want to try performing a factory reset of your HMI before downloading the modified program, just to ensure any old or incompatible configurations are not lingering in the system. Always remember to backup your projects before you do this. Lastly, if nothing else works, consider reaching out to Siemens technical support for professional assistance. Hope this helps!

Hi Balajiram, it sounds like you're dealing with an annoying issue here. I had a similar problem a few years back. In my case, the issue was resolved by updating the firmware of the HMI to the latest version and ensuring that the version of my TIA Portal matched the HMI firmware. Remember to backup your project before attempting any updates. If this doesn't resolve the issue, it may be worth checking if the HMI Hardware Support Package (HSP) in TIA Portal is up-to-date. Hope this helps you out.
