Troubleshooting a Dead MicroLogix 1100: Is It Beyond Repair?

Question:

Good morning, everyone! I’m currently working with a Micrologix 1100 Series B, and I'm having trouble establishing communication with the DF1 driver. I’m using the latest version of RSLinx and have a reliable cable. I tested the setup with an ML1400 and it worked perfectly right away. However, the ML1100 has been unused for several years, and its battery is dead, which likely means the program has been lost as well. It appears to be faulted. Should I consider it beyond repair?

Additionally, the fault display indicates a "Major Error" with Code = 0187h.

Check if you can utilize Bootp through the Ethernet port, then proceed to clear the memory and attempt the DF1 process once more.

Is the fault LED solid or blinking? The error code 0187h suggests that the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is set up for a module in slot one that doesn't correspond to what is physically installed. There’s a strong possibility that the PLC is functioning correctly; it’s simply not aligned with its internal configuration. Additionally, the mismatch could stem from significant differences between your channel setup and the RSLinx driver configuration, which might cause the module to be unrecognized. I recommend using Ethernet connectivity, as you should be able to view the configured IP address directly on the LCD screen of the PLC.

Code 187: Homicide - Murder, Death, Kill! (Do you recognize the reference?)

Amazing seashells.
