Troubleshooting A1734-AENTR/B Revision 5: Why Is My Logix Card Stuck on Rack Optimization?

Question:

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently working on a project and facing an issue while attempting to connect a card. We believe that altering the card's general settings from "rack optimization" might resolve the problem. However, we're encountering a limitation; it only allows us to select "rack optimization" and does not present any alternative options. Does anyone have insights into why this might be happening? The specific card model I'm dealing with is the A1734-AENTR/B Revision 5. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, PLC Apprentice

Hello, could you clarify your intentions? What exactly are you aiming to achieve?

What is the specific part number of the POINT I/O module you are using? What issue are you encountering that prompts you to consider altering the connection type? You are correct: it is typically possible to configure a discrete POINT I/O module within a 1734-AENT(R) adapter to either integrate with a Rack Optimized connection or to operate with its own dedicated Module type connection, complete with individualized RPI, Configuration, and Status data. When I access the Module Definition for a discrete module in a 1734-AENT(R) adapter, I see a drop-down menu for Connection options, which include Data, Listen-Only, and Rack Optimization. To the best of my knowledge, changing these settings online with 1734 modules is not feasible.
