Hello everyone, I am currently attempting to set up a CodeMeter Server on a host computer and link my VM Path to Activations to the host server. Although I have successfully done this in the past, I am facing difficulties getting it to work now. I will provide detailed information in the hopes of receiving assistance in troubleshooting this issue. My VM Network Adapter is configured as NAT, allowing me to ping my host computer from the VM. There are no warning signs (red "!") next to my host computer name in the "Path to Activations" section of my VM. I have attempted to refresh the server on my host computer multiple times with no positive outcome. Both machines are running Windows 10 and have Activation Manager v5.01.01 installed. One observation I made was that in the VM CodeMeter WebAdmin, the container for Rockwell Automation Inc. shows a status of "Empty". While I am unsure if this has any relevance to the issue, it is worth mentioning. I have searched extensively online for a solution, but have not been successful. Any assistance provided will be greatly valued. Please feel free to ask for additional information if needed.
Is your system experiencing a refresh issue with no visible changes? Are other clients able to connect to the server without any problems? Have you tried checking the connection using methods other than PING, such as RDP? Are you part of a domain or workgroup, and are you connecting using an IP address or hostname?
Seeing that you've already confirmed the NAT settings and can ping your host computer from the VM, it seems like the main issue lies elsewhere. Based on your description, the "Empty" status in your VM CodeMeter WebAdmin container for Rockwell Automation Inc. might, in fact, be relevant. You could try reinstalling the CodeMeter Runtime, or updating it if there's a newer version available than the one you're currently using. Another thing you might look into is your firewall settings, both in the host and the VM, as they might be blocking communication. Remember each time you adjust these settings, to refresh your server. Sometimes it's the simplest things that trip us up! Feel free to update us on your progress.
It sounds like you're on the right track with the setup, but the "Empty" status in the CodeMeter WebAdmin could indeed be a key issue. Have you tried checking the licensing containers on your host machine? Sometimes, a mismatch or missing container can cause communication errors between the VM and host. Additionally, double-check your firewall settings to ensure that the necessary ports for CodeMeter are open on both machines. It might also help to restart the CodeMeter Runtime on your host and see if that refreshes the connection. Let us know how it goes!
