Troubleshooting Communication Issues Between PanelView 1000 and Compact Logix L35E

In a nutshell, we were attempting to connect a Pv 1000 and its related Compact Logix L35E to our network. After adjusting the IP address of the PLC in Linx and updating the settings in the PV1000 application, we encountered communication issues between the two devices. Despite reverting back to the original settings, the problem persisted. Both devices are visible in RSLinx Classic with their correct IP addresses (192.168.1.X, 192.168.1.Y). It's worth noting that Factory Talk Studio is not currently installed on any of our systems.

I have successfully resolved the issue by adjusting the shortcut settings to point to BIPOLL,0 instead of just the Bridge. I take responsibility for the error and have fixed it accordingly.

I've encountered this problem before, and it can be quite tricky! Firstly, ensure that there are no duplicate IP addresses in the network that could be causing the issue. Secondly, power cycle both devices (turn them off and on) as changes to IP settings might not take effect till you do so. If the problem persists, a firmware update might be in order for the Compact Logix L35E and the PV1000 - outdated firmware can occasionally cause communication issues. Lastly, although Factory Talk Studio isn't installed, check if there are other software or utilities in your system that may interact or conflict with RSLinx or the network communication.
