Troubleshooting Communication with ADAM 4069 Module Using Crimson 3.1 Software

Question:

I am currently trying to establish communication with an ADAM 4069 digital output module using crimson 3.1 software. The module is connected through an Adam 4520 module rs232 to 485 converter and is utilizing modbus protocol. While I have successfully communicated with other ADAM devices such as the 4051 digital input module and the 4017+ analog input module using the same communication setup, I am encountering issues with the ADAM 4069. The baud rate is set at 19200, with the Modbus universal driver selected at the same rate and the rs232 communications port configured as the Adam driver at 19200 baud. The Adam 4520 unit's dipswitch 6 is enabled for 19200 baud. Are there any individuals with experience in using ADAM 4069 modules who can provide assistance?

It sounds like you've done a great job troubleshooting so far! Have you double-checked the Modbus address settings for the ADAM 4069? Sometimes, if the address is not set correctly or if there’s an address conflict with another device, it can cause communication problems. Also, make sure the wiring is solid and that there’s no loose connection at the terminals. If all else fails, you might want to test the module with a simple Modbus polling tool to see if it responds outside of Crimson 3.1; that could help isolate the issue. Good luck!
