Troubleshooting display problems on GE FANUC IC5002 PanelPC

Question:

Hello! I'm reaching out for assistance with our GE FANUC IC5002 PanelPC. After experiencing difficulties reinstalling Windows XP due to a failed hard drive, I have successfully completed the installation. However, I am facing issues with what appears to be missing VGA or chipset drivers. The image attached shows the current display problem. I have already installed Cimplicity software and the Elo touchscreen, but the display issue persists. Any guidance or advice on how to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Although I have successfully calibrated the colors on the screen, unfortunately, it never extends to full width and the height is consistently too large to fit properly on the screen. This issue persists even during boot up, such as when viewing the award BIOS screens.

From the image you've attached, it indeed looks like an issue with the graphic drivers. Initially, I'd suggest checking the GE FANUC official website for their available drivers, specifically those for the IC5002 PanelPC you are using. If you can't find what you need there, you could try a driver update tool, such as DriverPack Solution, which automatically selects and installs the necessary drivers. Don't forget to reboot your system after installing new drivers, sometimes that step is crucial. Lastly, if you're still facing issues, it might be worth getting in touch directly with GE FANUC's technical support team - sometimes these issues require a more personalized approach. Do let us know how it goes.

It sounds like you're on the right track in thinking this could be a VGA or chipset driver issue. Have you visited the GE FANUC's official website to check if there are relevant drivers available for your specific PanelPC model? If you can't find it there, another good resource for drivers is manufacturer-specific sites or certain trusted third-party sites like DriverGuide. Just ensure you're downloading from a reliable source. Also, double-check the BIOS settings; sometimes a simple adjustment there can fix graphics problems. Good luck!
