Hello everyone, I'm encountering issues with installing an EDS file in Logix and could use some help. I attempted to do so on my computer running v36 and a colleague's running v35, but have consistently received the same error. Despite making some parameter adjustments, I end up causing more problems as I am unsure of the correct steps. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? I'd prefer not to create a custom EDS or resort to using a standard ethernet module if there are other options available. Thank you for your assistance.
I have been making progress on this issue, and it appears that the problem may lie within the logic of the system rather than the file itself.
If you're encountering issues with your Logix system despite a clear error message, it's important to verify the accuracy of the "O>T Real time format" settings for Connection2 in the EDS file. Have you confirmed that these bits are correct?
I will power up my virtual machine and run various Rexroth to Allen Bradley EtherNet/IP applications to see what results I can achieve. Please stay tuned for updates.
Do you know the firmware version of your current drive?
I wanted to confirm if the version is up to date as I am hoping for a newer one.
Hi there, I've encountered this issue before and it can be quite frustrating! Before trying other more complicated steps, simple as it may sound, I recommend ensuring that your RSLogix 5000 software and RSLinx are fully up-to-date. Sometimes a newer device or EDS file is not compatible with older software versions. Only after checking this, try resetting your module or re-importing the EDS file. If you are unsure of parameters, Rockwellβs website has some pretty good forums and step-by-step guides. If all else fails, get in touch with their tech support. Hope this helps, good luck!
