Hello, I have successfully installed Rslogix 5000 Enterprise version and Rslinx Classic V3.80.00. I am able to view the controller (L35) in my Rslinx Classic and successfully ping it through my command prompt. However, I encounter an error when attempting to upload from the controller with Error Code 80680042535 and 701-8004280C. Interestingly, when attempting the upload from another laptop, it is successful. I have researched forums and attempted to delete the harmony file, but I am still facing the same issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the forum! Which version(s) of RSLogix are you currently using and what firmware version is installed in your L35E PLC? It is possible that the problem you are experiencing is due to a version mismatch. It's important to note that there is no backward compatibility in the world of Rockwell software. For instance, if your PLC has v19 firmware, you must use v19 software - installing v20 software will not resolve the issue. The error pop-up window likely included a message with an error code - can you provide more details about the message displayed?
Could these two errors be related to the discrepancy between the communication paths of the PLC project and the PC/Laptop? It may be necessary to review the RSLinx configuration to address this issue.
Greetings Kalaiselvan! Here are some valuable forum tips for the future. When reporting errors, provide the specific error text in addition to the code number. For software issues, be sure to mention the versions and firmware revisions involved, such as RSLogix 5000 v17 or firmware 17.012. When it comes to controllers, include the complete catalog number like 1769-L35CR or 1769-L35E, instead of just a partial designation like "L35." For communication problems, specify the method being used, whether Ethernet or serial. Also, mention the driver employed in RSLinx Classic, such as EtherNet/IP, Ethernet devices, or RS-232 DF1 devices. Kalaiselvan, in your recent post, you mentioned encountering error codes 80680042535 and 701-8004280C while trying to upload from the controller. The error "701-8004280C" is a common one, but for the "80680042535" error, it seems to indicate a communication issue. Reviewing a forum thread, it appears this error occurs when a previously established connection to the controller is lost. In the case of Ethernet communication, check your IP settings as mentioned in another post. Your troubleshooting reference to "ping" also suggests an Ethernet connection. Best regards, George
Hello! I am currently working on establishing communication for data exchange between a Siemens PLC (S7-1200) and an Allen Bradley PLC using a CompactLogix (1769-L16ER-BB1B) through TCP/IP. While I am able to successfully ping the IP Address assigned through BootP DHCP, I encounter an issue when attempting to download my code as the controller is not detected, with only the ethernet showing up on RSLinx. Can anyone provide any insights into why this might be happening? Thank you in advance. Best regards.
It sounds like your problem might be specific to your machine, considering that you were able to upload from another laptop successfully. Have you checked your firewall settings? It's possible that there might be a firewall impeding your communication process. Also, it may be beneficial to check if both laptops are running the same version of RSLogix. If they're not, try updating to the latest version on your machine. Don't forget to also update your device drivers, as an outdated driver might generate such issues.
It certainly sounds like you've done a thorough job troubleshooting the problem on your end. One thing that comes to mind is that a firewall or antivirus software on your computer might be causing the issue. In some cases, these programs can interfere with the upload process. I'd suggest temporarily disabling them to see if this resolves the problem. Additionally, make sure to update your system's ethernet drivers. Outdated or corrupted drivers often result in such hitches. Lastly, try a reboot of your system after clearing the cache; sometimes, leftover data causes communication difficulties between devices. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Rockwell technical support as your software might require a specific patch or fix.
Sounds like you've done a thorough inspection so far! This issue could potentially be due to conflicts with your firewall or antivirus settings on the problematic laptop. They may be blocking access to certain components necessary for a successful upload. Ensure you're running Rslogix and Rslinx as an administrator and possibly try disabling your firewall or antivirus temporarily to see if that resolves the issue. However, remember to turn it back on once you're done to keep your system protected. Also, do ensure that you have the latest updates for your software. Though these are suggestions rather than guaranteed solutions, they might be a worthy shot.
It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky situation! Since the upload works on another laptop, it might be worth checking your firewall settings on the laptop that's giving you trouble, as they can sometimes block the necessary communication. Also, try running both RSLogix 5000 and RSLinx as an administrator, just to see if that resolves the issue. If you haven't already, consider checking the version compatibility between your software and the controller—the error codes might point towards version mismatches or specific configuration settings that need to be adjusted. Good luck!
It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting already! Since the upload works on another laptop, the issue could be specific to your current setup. Have you checked the firewall settings or any antivirus software on your laptop that might be blocking the communication? Sometimes, even the network configuration or drivers can be the culprit, so it might be worth looking into updating your Ethernet or USB drivers, or even trying different network settings. Also, compare the software versions and configurations between the two laptops to see if anything stands out. Good luck!
