Good morning everyone! I am currently working with PF 525, FTV 12, and Studio 32.11 trying to download to the PF 525 drive. However, I keep encountering an error message that reads, "Error Writing '0' to Port 0, Parameter 122 Value, Data Value Out of Range (From Message: DPI: 81 00 :: 3.122.9)." Parameter 122 is responsible for changing the drive from "Velocity" to "Position," with options of 0 or 1. The maximum value allowed is 1. Despite referencing the manual, I am unable to find the necessary information to resolve this issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Before downloading, consider disabling the drive connection.
When setting up new machines, my process involves first disconnecting all drive connections, downloading the necessary program offline, transferring the program to each drive individually, re-connecting all drives while still offline, and finally re-downloading the program. This workflow ensures a smooth and efficient setup for new machines.
Great, it was successful! Thank you, sir.
ID: BF24075 | Access Levels: Everyone Encountering an "Error Data Value Out of Range" issue during offline download with PowerFlex 520 Series? If you're facing problems with writing to Port 0 and encountering a Parameter 122 value error, it may be necessary to not only inhibit the drive but also put the controller into Program Mode. Best regards, George
Geospark reported an error with ID:BF24075 related to the PowerFlex 520 Series drive. The issue occurred during an offline download, with an error message stating "Data Value Out of Range" when writing to Port 0, Parameter 122. In addition to addressing the drive inhibition, it may be necessary to switch the controller into Program Mode. Regards, George. Click here for more information.
Hi there! Based on your problem description, it appears that the error message is indicating a data value issue. Since Parameter 122 only accepts either a 0 or 1, you may need to double-check the value you're putting in there. I have encountered an issue like this before, and it turned out I was accidentally supplying a value outside the acceptable range. Itβs important to confirm there's no extra data or unnecessary space cluttering up the value you're trying to write. Also, do cross-verify if there are any updates required for your software as well as the system firmware, as sometimes these can lead to such errors. On a side note, a settings reset to default (if applicable) might help identify if the issue is because of any unnoticed changed settings.
Hello! It appears like there could be a mismatch between the data type set in your programming software and the actual data type of parameter 122 on the PF 525 drive. Given that the parameter only permits a 0 or 1, its value represents a Boolean data type. Ensure that this parameter is defined as such in your software. Likewise, try resetting the drive to its default state before you proceed with the changes. Clearing any predefined parameters might just solve your issue. Also, ensure that there is no conflict with other parameters. I hope this helps!
I've also dabbled with PF 525s and ran into similar issues in the past. It sounds like the value you are trying to write might be incorrect. Despite the maximum value being 1, the error message seems to suggest you're trying to write '0' to the Parameter 122. If you want to change the drive to "Position," then you should write '1' instead of '0', as '0' is designated for "Velocity". Try this and see if the error persists. Sometimes, it's these small nuances that get overlooked.

Answer: Answer: This error message indicates that there is an issue with writing a value of '0' to Port 0 with Parameter 122, and the data value is out of the allowed range.
Answer: Answer: To resolve this error, ensure that the value you are trying to write to Parameter 122 is within the allowed range (0 or 1). Referencing the manual for the PF 525 drive and checking the programming in Studio 32.11 can help troubleshoot this issue.
Answer: Answer: If you are unable to find a solution in the manual, consider reaching out to technical support for the specific software and hardware you are using. They may be able to provide further guidance on resolving the error message related to Parameter 122.
