Hello everyone, I need assistance with using GP-PRO to access a project file. Whenever I attempt to open the file, I receive an error message stating "Unable to open due to an invalid device/PLC configuration. Please choose a different project." My experience with PLCs mainly involves Mitsubishi products like GX and GT Works, so I am not very familiar with Pro-Face or GP-Pro. The project file I need to open is for a GP-Pro handy panel (model GP-4311HT) that interfaces with our equipment. I am interested in opening the .prx file on my computer to review the project details and run simulation mode to visualize the menus similar to how GT Works allows me to view and simulate projects connected to GX Works sequencer simulator.
Greetings, feel free to send me your project for review to see if I can access it. I possess various editions of GP-Pro Ex that may be compatible with your file.
Hello Sigma, thank you for getting back to me. I have sent you a private message (PM) containing the project file. Please confirm if you are able to access and open the file.
I attempted various versions as requested initially, but which PLC model is currently connected to this HMI?
One challenging aspect for me has always been troubleshooting this particular issue. Our convenient control panel is directly linked to a VME system via RS-422. The VME itself is a bit of a mystery since the software is outsourced to a third-party company, limiting our access. However, the board on the VME that interfaces with the control panel is manufactured by Hitachi Zosen and is labeled as the SIO-8(HIMV-533) model. Despite attempting to download and install Hitachi SIO drivers from the Pro-Face support website, we have yet to achieve success. It is possible that a customized driver is required for our specific SIO-8 boards, but we are currently awaiting confirmation on this matter.
It sounds like you’re running into a common issue with GP-Pro, especially when dealing with device and PLC configurations. Since you're used to Mitsubishi’s tools, it can be a bit of a learning curve! I’d suggest double-checking the device settings in your project file to ensure they match the configurations of the actual hardware you're using with the GP-4311HT. Also, make sure that the PLC driver is properly set up in GP-Pro. If the project was originally created on a different version of GP-Pro, or if it's configured for a different model, that could also lead to this error. Lastly, running a compatibility check or even reinstalling the software might help resolve any underlying issues. Good luck!

Answer: Answer: The error message indicates that the device/PLC configuration in the GP-Pro project file does not match the setup or configuration on your system. This could be due to differences between Mitsubishi products like GX and GT Works and Pro-Face GP-Pro. Try checking and adjusting the device/PLC settings in the GP-Pro project file to match your system's configuration.
