Hello! I need assistance with opening a zip file program in TIA Portal V19. Although I have already extracted the file, I am unable to see the program when I open the project in TIA Portal. Can you please provide some guidance on how to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for your help.
When you encounter a .zapxx file, you can easily open it in TIA. However, if it is a zip file, you must first extract it externally before accessing the project. TIA specifically requires the presence of the .ap19 file among the various files and folders in the project. If you only have an ap19 file, the sender may have made an error in sending the project. It is recommended to utilize the Project -> archive function within TIA instead of simply zipping files. While zipping the project folder theoretically works, it may encounter issues if the project is open and includes unnecessary compiler files, resulting in a larger file size than necessary.
When dealing with a .zapxx file, you can easily open it in TIA. However, if it is in a zip format, you will need to extract it first before opening the project. While TIA searches for the .ap19 file, it is important to note that a project should include multiple files and folders. If you only receive an ap19 file, the project was likely sent incorrectly. It is advisable to use the Project -> archive function in TIA instead of simply zipping up files. Although zipping up the project folder theoretically works, it may not function properly if the project is open and can unnecessarily increase its size due to including compiler files.
It appears that the only file I can locate is an AP19 file. Unfortunately, I am unable to find a .zapxx file. Does this mean I won't be able to access it?
While a zapxx file is typically used for archiving projects, it is not necessary for every project. When you unzipped the file you received, did you only find the ap19 file, or did you also see an ap19 accompanied by various folders?
mk42 explained that while a zapxx file is the official way to archive a project, it is not mandatory. When unzipping the file received, it contained multiple folders along with the ap19 file. See attached for details.
Hi there! This sounds like it could possibly be an issue with the file path. When you extracted the zip file, it may have been moved to a different location than what TIA Portal is looking for. Try storing the extracted files in the same directory as your TIA Portal project. If that doesn't work, there could be a compatibility issue with the zip file itself. Let's check that the version of the program in the zip file is compatible with TIA Portal V19. Keep us posted on your progress.
Hello! So, once you've extracted the ZIP file, the next step is usually to import the project into TIA Portal. From the portal's main page, go to the Project View and select "Retrieve" then "Project". From here, you should be able to navigate to your unzipped file on your computer. Make sure when you're selecting your file it is the .ap13 (or similarly numbered) file. This is an often overlooked step which could be why you can't see your program. Give it a try and let us know if the issue still persists!
It sounds like you might need to check whether the extracted files are in the correct format that TIA Portal recognizes. Make sure the project files have the correct extensions, usually .ap14 (for TIA Portal V14) or .zap (for newer versions). If they're there but still not showing up, try creating a new project in TIA Portal and then importing the files directly using the βImportβ option. Sometimes, if the folder structure isn't maintained, it can lead to issues. Let me know if you need any more help!

Answer: 1. Q: I have extracted a zip file in TIA Portal V19, but the program is not visible in the project. How can I fix this issue? If the extracted program is not visible in the project, try checking the folder structure where the files were extracted. Ensure that the program files are in the correct location within the project directory.
Answer: To make the extracted program visible in TIA Portal, try refreshing the project or restarting the software. Sometimes, the program may not appear immediately after extraction, so a simple refresh or restart can resolve the issue.
Answer: TIA Portal V19 supports various file formats, but the most common ones are AWL (Anweisungsliste), KOP (Kontaktplan), and SCL (Structured Control Language). Ensure that the extracted program is saved in one of these supported formats for it to be visible in the project.
Answer: If the program is still not visible after checking the folder
