When configuring the Ethernet driver to find the IP Address of a PLC device through the A1 port on a factory network, which typically uses automatic IP assignment, the device cannot be located. However, the A2 Local port, which has a static IP, is easily found. Interestingly, RSLinx is able to locate both A1 and A2 ports without any issues. Although the new device appeared in RSLinx, it was not updating correctly in FTlinx Browser. By deleting and re-adding the device to the list, the issue was resolved. If you are having trouble accessing a private address on the device, make sure to configure it in the device settings on RSLinx by adding each private address (e.g. 192.1.1.1, 192.1.1.2, 192.1.1.3) to the list.
