Hello everyone, I have recently made updates and need to remotely download a new runtime file onto a customer's PanelView Plus. The device can only store one application at a time, so we intended to use the 'Download as' option to overwrite the current file, a method that has been successful in the past. However, the download process has failed this time and now the PanelView Plus is not accepting any new downloads. It seems that the old file may still be in the system's memory but is not visible in the Transfer Utility. What steps should I take to resolve this issue? Thank you for your assistance.
If you're having trouble deleting a file on your HMI screen, try accessing the configuration menu and navigating to terminal settings for file management. If that doesn't work, consider updating the HMI firmware to resolve the issue.
ASF suggested attempting to delete the file directly from the HMI interface. Access the configuration menu, navigate to terminal settings, and locate the file management option. If these steps are unclear, consider flashing the HMI firmware to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I am managing this remotely during the customer's nighttime hours and may not have access to the physical hardware until their morning.
SteveBee mentioned that he is currently working remotely during nighttime at the customer's location, aiming to complete the task before their morning. Unfortunately, access to the physical hardware is not available. In this case, the next step would be to reflash the firmware.
Hey there, this sounds like a tricky situation. From past experience, it sounds like it might be a caching or memory error. I'd suggest trying to completely reboot the PanelView Plus to clear any lingering memory issues. If that doesn't work, you might need to manually delete the old file using command line, even though it's not visible in the Transfer Utility. If you're not comfortable doing that, it might be best to reach out to their customer support for more help to avoid causing any further issues. Good luck!
Hello, it seems like your PanelView Plus is experiencing a glitch due to high-density files. I recommend you restart the device first to see if it clears any stalling processes. If the problem persists, you may need to perform a factory reset, which will clear the internal memory, before attempting the download again. Please remember to backup any important files before doing the factory reset, if possible. Also, ensure you are using the most up-to-date version of Transfer Utility. As a last resort, you may need to consult with your service provider or the device's manufacturer for additional support.
Hey! It sounds like youβre in a bit of a tight spot with that PanelView Plus. Have you tried doing a factory reset on the device? Sometimes that can clear up any ghost files lingering in memory that arenβt visible through the Transfer Utility. Just ensure you back up any necessary settings beforehand. Additionally, check if there's an option to clear the existing application without a full reset; that might be less disruptive. Good luck!
