Hello, We are currently experiencing an issue with iFIX 3.5 Dynamics running on Windows XP and connected to a PLC5. Despite the alarm buzzer going off, the alarm text and tag are not displaying on the Alarm Summary since last month. Has anyone else encountered a similar situation before? Any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Claudio Moreira.
Although it may seem like a long shot, have you been able to solve this mystery yet? Thank you.
SoftwareJames inquired about a potential issue and it turns out that the problem was due to a filtered Alarm Summary displaying the wrong Node. By removing the filter and choosing the correct Node, the alarms were successfully displayed as intended. Thank you for the help!
Hey Claudio, this sounds like a frustrating issue but I've encountered a similar problem before. I suspect there might be a corruption in the alarm database. Try using the DBF Repair & Recovery tool to analyze the database file for errors, this could possibly solve the issue. Additionally, ensure that the alarm text and tag are accurately configured in your PLC alarm set up. If all else fails, you might have to consider upgrading your iFIX or even the Windows XP system, as they're quite outdated and might not play well with newer PLC5 versions. Hope this helps.
Hi Claudio, This sounds like an interesting issue. I had a similar problem a while back. It turned out the alarm tags in the PLC5 were not configured to match those in the SCADA system. Also, given that you're running on XP, you might want to check if there are any compatibility issues or updates needed. Additionally, have you tried a test tag to see if it's all alarms not working, or specific ones only? These could be some good starting points for diagnosing your issue. Good luck! Best, John.
Hi Claudio, I've run into a similar problem with iFIX in the past, and one thing that helped was checking the configuration of the alarm tags to ensure they’re correctly linked. Sometimes, if there’s a communication issue or the tags are disabled, they won’t appear in the summary even if the buzzer sounds. It might also be worth looking into the system logs for any errors that could shed light on what’s happening. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted soon!
