Learn how to configure the IP address on a PowerFlex 525 drive by checking parameter C128. If it is set to 2, Boot-p is enabled; change it to 1 and manually enter the IP address (C130 - C136). After making these adjustments, power cycle the drive. For detailed instructions, refer to the document provided that outlines two methods for flashing the PowerFlex 525 drive: https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/rn/520-rn001_-en-e.pdf.

Thank you for your response. The IP address is 192.168.2.59 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.2.254. On the other side of the drive, the IP address and subnet mask are the same, with a gateway of 192.168.2.1. I have successfully updated my control flash plus and flashed the drive. I will now need to go offline to sync and download to the PLC. There are only 71 left to do.

I have indeed run into a similar issue before. It's quite perplexing when the drives are not even part of the Asset Manager. What I found helpful was ensuring that my FactoryTalk Studio version was compatible with 525 drive. Also, completely reinstalling all Rockwell software solved the issue. This appears to be more of a software bug than an actual requirement. Perhaps they'll address this in a future update.

I've encountered a similar issue before with my PowerFlex drive. It sounds like even though you're not actively trying to communicate with the server, your system is trying to log messages there. What you could attempt is disabling the system logging to the FactoryTalk server to stop this prompt. Alternatively, you might want to install the mentioned FactoryTalk Asset Center Client just to satisfy the system’s requirement, even if you don't need it. This way, your firmware flash should go smoothly.
