Hello everyone, I am having issues registering EDS Files for IO Link in RSLogix V36.11. Despite using the "Device Description Installation Tool", I am still encountering errors in my tree suggesting that the files were not installed properly. I also attempted to do this on version 35 with no success. I can confirm that the files are not the issue as a colleague has successfully installed them on his laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
If you're attempting to install a new device, consider adding an AOP (Add On Profile) specific to your equipment for seamless integration.
Version 36 has a well-known glitch that disrupts third-party eds files utilized as an AOP, affecting all versions of Studio once installed. A tech note addressing this issue is available for reference. If anyone can share the link, it would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, I could only locate this v35Sign In note.
I have not seen an update for version 36 yet. I am currently working with RA on a ticket to address this issue in v36, but it seems we may have to wait until v37 for the fix to be implemented.

Hey! It sounds frustrating, but Iād recommend double-checking the installation path for your EDS files and making sure that RSLogix has the correct permissions to access that folder. Sometimes, running the installation tool as an administrator can help resolve these kinds of issues. Additionally, ensure you're using the right architecture for your system (32-bit vs. 64-bit) as mismatches can lead to registration problems. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted out soon!
Hey, I can relate to the frustration with EDS file registration! Have you double-checked your user permissions and ensured you're running RSLogix as an administrator? Sometimes, issues arise from the installation path or registry access. It might also be worth clearing out any cached EDS files if there's a conflict. If you've exhausted those options, considering a complete reinstall of the Device Description Installation Tool might help resolve any underlying installation issues. Good luck!
