Greetings, I am currently facing an issue with connecting my M258 PLC (firmware: 2.0.31.40) using Somachine v4.3 software. The target PLC is indicating a different version, prompting me to upgrade the firmware to 4.0.3.6. However, I am unable to select the firmware versions as they are not displaying in the controller assistant. Despite searching online, I have been unable to find the necessary firmware file. I am seeking assistance in resolving why the firmware version is not visible in the controller assistant and also in obtaining the firmware file for the M258 PLC. Please refer to the attached photo for further clarification. Thank you.

You may need to install the necessary libraries for the firmware to show up in the controller assistant. Regarding the desired firmware file for M258 PLC, it's not typically available for direct download online due to the company's policy on software updates. However, you may be able to obtain it by directly contacting Schneider Electric's support service or your vendor, as they regularly maintain such updates. Let's hope this is a viable course of action for you.
It sounds like your Somachine software might not be compatible with your current firmware version. Just to confirm, please cross verify if you're using the latest version of Somachine or if a newer version is available which might support firmware 4.0.3.6. For the firmware file, it's generally available on the manufacturer's website under 'Downloads' or 'Support' section. If you can't find it there, you can contact their customer support and they should be able to provide you the necessary file. Additionally, make sure that your controller assistant is properly configured to display available firmware versions for your specific PLC model.
It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky situation! First, make sure that your Somachine software is fully updated, as sometimes firmware compatibility issues can arise from having an outdated version of the software. If the firmware versions aren't showing in the controller assistant, you might also want to double-check your Internet connection or firewall settings, as they can sometimes prevent access to the firmware repository. As for the firmware file itself, you can usually find it on the official Schneider Electric website or contact their support for help; they often have resources for downloading specific firmware versions. Good luck, and I hope you get it sorted out!
It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating situation! Sometimes, the firmware files can be a bit tricky to find if they're not readily available on the manufacturer's site. Have you tried checking the latest updates on the Schneider Electric support page or reaching out to their customer service?
