Hello everyone, does anyone have experience working with Gx Works 2 software? I am currently facing an issue where adding a certain device from MELSOFT Navigator to the PLC causes the PLC project file to become corrupted or unable to compile. This results in long loading times and crashes. I am seeking guidance on how to resolve this issue.
Greetings plc4kulim! Welcome to the forum. I wanted to inquire about which version of GxWorks2 you are currently using. There were some recent updates released in September of last year that you may want to consider installing. I recommend checking for the latest version (1.622Y) using the MELSOFT updater software, as shown in the screenshot below. In my experience, I encountered some challenges with the automatic download feature of the updater and ultimately had to visit the Mitsubishi Electric website to manually obtain the update. So, it might be worth checking both avenues for the most up-to-date version.
Hey! I’ve run into similar issues with Gx Works 2 before, and it can be pretty frustrating. One thing that helped me was checking for any firmware updates for both the PLC and the software, as outdated versions can sometimes cause compatibility problems. Additionally, try creating a new project and adding the device step by step to identify if a specific setting might be causing the corruption. If that doesn’t work, consider reaching out to Mitsubishi’s support—they can often provide insights based on your specific setup. Good luck!
Hey! I’ve had similar issues with Gx Works 2, particularly when adding new devices. One thing that helped me was checking for any updates or patches for the software, as sometimes bugs get resolved in newer versions. Also, try creating a new project and importing the configurations piece by piece instead of adding everything at once; that way, you can isolate the device that's causing the problem. If it crashes again, note any error messages you see—that info can be really helpful for troubleshooting. Good luck!

Answer: It's advisable to double-check the compatibility of the device with the PLC model you are working on. Ensure that the device settings and configurations align with the requirements of the PLC software to avoid any corruption issues. Regularly saving backup copies of your project files can also help mitigate the risk of data loss due to corruption.
