Created a FactoryTalk SE program in English (Canada) and encountered an issue with alarms displaying message as "Message not defined for language English (Canada)". When switching to English (US), the alarm messages display correctly but the tags are replaced with question marks. Using V36 Logix Designer with a Guard Compactlogix controller. Unable to find language settings in Logix Designer except for documentation language. Any Canadians facing similar challenges? Appreciate any advice on this issue.
I had to change the primary language setting in my FT Client configuration, which resolved the issue.
It sounds like a tricky issue you're dealing with! I’ve encountered similar problems with language settings in FactoryTalk SE before. One possible workaround could be to check the language settings in the FactoryTalk Administration Console under the “Local” or “Network” settings since those can sometimes override the controller settings. Also, make sure your alarm messages are defined in both language files for English (Canada) and English (US) to avoid those "message not defined" errors. Lastly, it might help to look into updating your project with the latest language packs or checking if there's a version compatibility issue with your Logix Designer. Hope this helps!
