Troubleshooting Mitsubishi PLC Communication Setup Between R00CPU and R08PCPU

Question:

Hello! We are currently establishing communication between the R08PCPU and R00CPU. I have set up the R00CPU (10.20.10.1) to transmit data from D0-D10 to the R08PCPU (10.20.10.9) D1000-D1010. However, I am not receiving any data from the R00CPU to the R08PCPU. Is there any additional configuration needed for this setup? Furthermore, I have configured the Network/Ip settings (using the Table conversion method) for external devices' IP addresses (R00CPU IP configured in R08PCPU and R08PCPU IP configured in R00CPU). Are these configurations necessary when using a simple PLC? I have attempted both configurations, but have not successfully received any data from the R00CPU to the R08PCPU. Please refer to the attached image for more details.

Watch this video demonstrating a Mitsubishi R00CPU utilizing Ethernet communication to interact with an FX5 controller. While it may not be exactly what you're looking for, it can still provide valuable insights. This video highlights simple communication methods between different CPUs. Thank you for the quick response. I have attempted all the suggested solutions, similar to how I configured it in a basic PLC system. However, I am encountering difficulties when trying to connect using the simple diagnostics option, as I am unable to open it.

I have observed that your IP addresses include xx.xx.xx.1 & 2, as well as settings for x.xx..9 & 10. Have you considered adjusting the subnet settings or removing them altogether? When it comes to simple communication, these additional settings may not be necessary.

So, we don't need a default gateway, correct? I will remove the other settings as you suggested, specifically the table conversion method.

Before proceeding, it is recommended to first configure the subnet. Subnetting is essential for dividing the network, especially when using a router. Routers typically automatically assign a subnet, but if you are connecting directly, you may not need to worry about it. Please note that my experience is primarily with the older Q series and not with built-in Ethernet. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the newer series, so my knowledge on those models is limited.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

FAQ: 1. Why am I not receiving any data from the R00CPU to the R08PCPU despite setting up the transmission parameters?

Answer: - It is possible that there may be additional configurations needed for the setup. Double-check the settings related to data transmission and ensure they are correctly configured.

FAQ: 2. Are Network/IP settings necessary when configuring communication between the R00CPU and R08PCPU in a simple PLC setup?

Answer: - While it may not be necessary for a simple PLC setup, configuring Network/IP settings can help ensure proper communication between the devices. Verify that the settings are accurate and match between the two devices.

FAQ: 3. What should I do if I have tried both configurations for Network/IP settings but still cannot receive data?

Answer: - If you have attempted both configurations for the Network/IP settings and are still facing issues, consider reviewing the settings again for any discrepancies. It may also be helpful to troubleshoot the network connection between the R00CPU and R08PCPU to ensure there are no other underlying issues affecting communication.
