Hello, I am encountering an issue with a PowerFlex755 drive as it constantly faults on a 'Net IO Timeout' every few seconds. My hardware setup is quite straightforward - I have created a test environment where my PC is connected to an ENBT card on my ControlLogix rack. The rack includes a GuardLogix processor with safety partner and another ENBT card directly linked to the drive, totaling 4 cards. I am able to successfully communicate with the drive using RSLinx, view live statistics, and have integrated it into my Logix5000 I/O tree. Despite matching drives and correlating parameters, the fault persists when the drive is in the rack and the program is running. Switching to program mode eliminates the issue, indicating a program-related fault. Additionally, when accessing the drive faceplate in the I/O tree and checking the 'connection' tab, the 'Module Fault' box displays '(Code 16#0203) Connection Timed Out' and repeatedly attempts to reconnect. Any guidance on troubleshooting steps and potential causes of this fault would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance. - Kane
After thorough investigation, I successfully resolved the issue at hand. The Ethernet/IP port embedded in the drive necessitates the Ethernet/IP scanner to utilize a suitable method for specifying quality of service (QoS). Unfortunately, the 1756-ENBT module I utilized did not meet the necessary firmware revision requirement (min 4.005), prompting me to conduct a FLASH upgrade. Subsequently, the problem was resolved. Additionally, it is important to ensure that if you are using a Stratix switch, the ports are configured to enable QoS.
We appreciate the follow-up, as it will undoubtedly benefit others in the future.
