Title: Seeking Solutions for Omron HMI NT30-ST131-E Communication Issues Hello, I am currently facing a connection issue with my Omron HMI NT30-ST131-E, as it shows the "Connecting Host" message. You can view a screenshot here: [Connecting Host Screenshot](http://prntscr.com/jca6eh). Unfortunately, I do not have a backup of my data. Is there a way for me to obtain a backup? I would greatly appreciate any guidance from experts in this area. Additionally, I have a question regarding communication through my laptop. I have a USB port and an Ethernet RJ45 port available. Is it possible to connect the RS-232c to the Ethernet RJ45 port? If so, could you provide any diagrams or instructions for this setup? For reference, here’s another screenshot of my CPU: [CPU Screenshot](http://prntscr.com/jca8lq). Thank you for your assistance! Best regards, Rashid
Welcome to the forum, Rashidr76! To establish a connection with the NT30, you will require the NT Support Tool software. This program is typically located in the Utility directory on your CX-One CD/DVD. Remember to switch the NT device into Transmit mode before attempting to transfer the program from the NT. I hope this information proves helpful to you!
To access the transmit menu, simultaneously press any two of the four corners on the device. For detailed instructions, refer to page 77 of the Omron NT30/NT30C Operation Manual, available [here](https://www.lakewoodautomation.com/support/manuals/Omron/V034E15%20NT30%20NT30C%20Operation%20Manual.pdf). Best regards, Garry.
Thank you for your response. This is an outdated NT30 HMI. When I supply power to the device, it displays a "Connecting to host" message.
Title: Troubleshooting NT30 Omron HMI Issues Content: Hello, I'm seeking assistance with my NT30 Omron HMI device. After accessing the main menu, I selected the option to initialize the following: Memory, Screen Memory, Memory Table, and History Data. Now, my screen displays a message stating, "No Direct Information is Set." It advises using the support tool to configure the PT Control Area and the PT Notify Area. I'm new to this platform and currently do not have a backup. Any guidance or troubleshooting tips you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Please consult the user manual provided in the link from gclshortt above. It’s essential to verify the configurations for the NT30 and PLC ports to ensure compatibility. Has this system been operational at this site, or is it being newly commissioned at your location?
Hi Rashid, I can relate to your frustration! For the backup issue, if you can't connect your HMI to retrieve data, you might want to look into Omron's specific software for HMI programming, like the NT-Programmer, which sometimes has tools for backing up existing projects directly if you can establish a connection. Regarding the RS-232C to Ethernet connection, unfortunately, it's not a straightforward plug-and-play setup since they use different communication protocols. You'd likely need a serial-to-Ethernet converter to bridge the two. These converters come with their own configuration instructions, so make sure to check the user manual! Good luck!
Hi Rashid, I feel your pain—those connection issues can be really frustrating! For the backup, if you can't connect the HMI, it's tough, but sometimes there's a way to retrieve data through a service technician who can connect directly to the HMI's memory. Regarding the RS-232c to Ethernet connection, unfortunately, you can't directly connect those ports as they're different protocols. You'd need a converter like a serial to Ethernet adapter if you want to bridge that gap. I hope that helps!
